Tumbling

Natalie Shea

The darkness is coming.

But it’s a long way off.

There’s a maniac in the mirror.

Pupils dilated

Making my dark eyes appear black

Holes I could fall into

My thoughts are too loud

Too fast

Slipping by

Like water trickling through my fingers.

I try to grab one

But they spill out of my head

Puddling on the ground

Until I’m empty.
