Tightrope Ride

James Crouch

Scattered thoughts
Trembling hands
Mind racing down its lanes
Grip failing on these reins
I”m here
I”m there
I”m everywhere
Given up on focus
Attention span is atrocious
Words, thoughts flutter by
Actions so erratic, why?
Though I”ve lost the black dog
I haven”t escaped the fog
Wish this would last
Such a nice contrast
Soon the black dog comes for me
To bring me back down to my knee
But for now I enjoy the ride
Chaos and mania collide
