Pills…

Dennie Carpenter

When you are sick,
Labeled with a disease,
Handed Pills:
Blue. Pink. Yellow. Red.
Afraid it may interfere with
your ability to create.
Could it spell death for some artists?
A loss of their abilities,
Wondering if you”ll wind up like
Dr. Jekyll. Mr. Hyde.
Would you rather wind up
in the world where the imagination,
runs wild like white water rapids?
Or suffering.
Or absolute madness.
The choice is yours to make.
Meanwhile the question remains unanswered
