“Looking Backwards”

Anonymous

Tell me Dr. Leet about the years.
The bygone years when I used to be me?
Tell me Doctor Leet about another century.
A century of weeping dreams and memories.
Doctor Leet I still see the overflowing water tower,
Water still dripping from their fingertips.
Bittersweet charity for the thirsty.
Doctor Leet don’t I still see?
The chosen ones frolicking in pools carelessly.
The beautiful fountains spraying excessively.
Is it still a penny for my thoughts,
Sold back to me for two pennies?
Doctor Leet please tell me?
Why things are still the way they used to be?
