Guess Where I Woke Up

Dennie Carpenter

4:35 A.M.
Very Little Light in room.
Unfamiliar Place.
Saw A brown Plastic Door.
Shuts with black Velcro.
All to keep me safe.
Felt like a dungeon.
But it”s not.
I guess I”m here to better myself.
The psychedelic mind.
Slow down the racing voices.
Thoughts. Visions.
Nobody believed.
Wondering would anyone visit me.
Looking through the small hole in the door.
It”s a terribly lonely place
