Bi-Polar Disorder

Jim Rainey

It was a mental health clinic

That I was referred to

That offered help to families

and individuals and groups.

I asked about support groups.

“We have no support groups,” she said.

“We offer individual therapy

And we offer group therapy

If you have insurance.

But, we have no support groups.”

“What do people do when they get well?” I asked.

“Oh,” she said, “they never do get well.

We have some clients who have been coming

to us for years.”

“And the others?” I asked.

“Oh, the others,” she said

“Well, for the others, for some their insurance

runs out

And, for some, well, they just stop coming back.”
