Poem: I walked towards the ocean.
I didn't stop as the cold water hit my skin hard.
I walked until the water took my weight
and dropped my head beneath its skin,
exhaling and letting my body sink.
I let the waves wash over me, pound me.
The sound, the nothing.
I just wanted to stay there eternally
with the chop and the waves forever washing over me.
I just wanted to sink.
Slowly and peacefully fall
forgotten to the bottom of the ocean.
Forget this fight, forget to fight.
The sound of the water drowned out all human sounds,
worldly sounds, sounds of life.
A different world
into which one could simply slip and not return. ...
