Poem: the agony of knowing
that ones persona is not right
that ones mental capacity
does not fit the conformity of the mob
one tries to exceed expectations
to overcome the pain
but never quite manages to hear
that blissful refrain
job well done, perfect presentation, no flaws
from a compromised audience
projecting their reality
not seeing the soul
not understanding the tumult
it would touch their perfect surfaces
mock their religious views
to know the person before them
is blemished without but not within
who cries to god
a god which makes her sing
who does not do religion for weekend relief
but practises honesty and empathy
within her uncompromising belief
that all men are equal
in the eyes of a god
who does not judge society
but mourns loss of person
so bent on piercing another soul ...
