Captured and drawn through a lifetime thread Meeting the maximum of a lifetime death Trying to fit in - but never enough Break the rules - you are no longer tough The rules have shifted over my last few years Self pity is not the decree Self sacrifice, admissions of guilt of not being able to handle life as a daily battle Then people pounce medication justifying health But the inner blue flame is no longer there Blinded by years of despair I am now expected to submit and conform A dead creature Outcast by society which I try to bring in only to find my adjustments must be now extreme I understand feeling is scrutinised you run further inside yourself I have not the energy to be different ... |
