Title: manic depression
Author: Jay Smith
Date Submitted: 3/4/2007

Poem: that manic depression startin' to set in
but baby it's not because of our sin
condemnation startin' to rack my brain
Lord take away this pain

so many highs and lows
the war in my soul
take a deep breath let the cold wind blow

they tell me to take my pills
but not the ones that give the thrills
so numb i cannot feel
will my mind ever heal?

livin' in my own purple haze
on this lost highway
they say they see me in a daze
only a woman's touch can phase

so brothers let's stay strong
from dusk till dawn
there's power in our songs
this ole world can't batter us for too long...
