Title: Silence

Poem: Here were two little girls,
Both with their curls.
Different ages were they,
But it mattered not what they say.
Little, or big they tried to speak, but were scared.
For if they did, trouble it be for them,
so they not dared.
Only one person knew, oh yes she knew indeed.
The little girl told, but only once then she peed.
The bigger girl hinted and tried to tell too,
But she was too scared of the man that would come unglued if he knew.
So, the two of them hurt together in silence,
With no one to protect them from this horrible violence.
Their troubles went on and on and they were tortured inside.
Losing all self-esteem and most of their pride.
They would not, could not, dare not tell.
For it meant being dropped, though not literally, down a deep, deep well.
We would lose the love of the man who did these horrible things to us,
But we couldn''t allow that to happen, because he loved us and we were his special little girls...just us!
Eventually we learn, it''s repressed, it''s hard to trust, we don''t understand.
Is there hope that we ever will?...
