Poem: His shoes dead from attrition
Walking in poverty''s stride
Half supply of medication
taking out of penury
Used to be a whole man
Even with a mental disorder
Remembered with nostalgia
When mental health clinics existed
Lyndon Baines Johnson was the 36th President
of the United States of Amercia
War on poverty
and the existence of mental health clinics
That was forty years ago
Long before the fall of America
May my luck hold out
Good karma in bad times
I''m still working
Breathing with anxiety in the new mindset
Millions unemployed
Living on a pittance
It''s got to be something novel to follow
Old way gone forever
Death built into the fibre
Birthing with pain ...
