Poem: My mind bogged down
Caught in the sunset
Like inching its way up a slough
Trying to get back into the mainstream
That could be the end of words
The river moves too fast
I''m a slothful creature
Man in my senior years
Parts broken into lines on paper
Don''t know the difference from desperation or despair
Moving slowly on the skiff
As if being born from primeval waters
Fowl landing on the muddy streamway
Been here for sixty-four years
Buried my grandparents, father and mother
Lost my youth, ran the HWY''S of America
But never left the waters
They run in my veins
Live in my cerebrum
The matriarch, vaginal water way of consciousness
Evolved to propagate a planet
Everything transposed by mind
Giving meaning
Without a purpose
The first word...
