Poem: I don''t know when I can''t sleep
Just holding my own to the two a.m. darkness
Swallowing my thoughts
Regurgitations of every dammed interrogation
From youthful penal colony and lonley hotel dive
Went to parochial school just to bastardise Latin
Rooted in the saints and altar wine
Fell into devotion to Saint Francis of Assisi
Another bipolar pillar with the stigmata
But women truly took my adoration
Latter psychiatric wards to keep the devil at bay
Lauds in the most unusual places
Sweating blood with horrific headaches in back of neck
Old drugs in the sixties worked well for me
Just like the sacredness of absinthe
Bathe me mother
I''m such a dusty fellow
The roads been rough
Living on the Chisholm trail...
